Naturalization Records
NARA and/or the USCIS Genealogy Program have U.S. Naturalization Records. Sometimes one has the record when the other one doesn't. You will either need the naturalization record of your Italian ancestor or a Letter of No Record of Naturalization from these organizations.

Index Search Request
In order to locate records, you will first have to request an index search and pay the fee (currently $65 as of June 2022). The index search can take months or even over a year. The USCIS will need as much information about your Italian ancestor as you can provide, and they allow you to upload documents and pictures to help them locate the records. One of the collaborators to this Wiki uploaded a passenger list from Ellis Island showing their ancestor's arrival, and multiple census records showing the ancestor listed as an alien and subsequently naturalized on a later census record.

Once you submit your request, you will be emailed a search request case ID, in the form of GEN-XXXXXXXX. This case ID can be used to check the status of your request here: https://genealogy.uscis.dhs.gov/#/cases/status/check
Note that you can upload supporting documentation after the request is submitted:
The USCIS Genealogy Program will send you a letter reporting the search results. The letter will identify all file references found in the index and provide instructions and additional information necessary to request the file(s) from the USCIS Genealogy Program, the Freedom of Information Program, the National Archives, or a state or local courthouse. The indices contain many references to files that no longer exist. When a file no longer exists the Index Search Request response letter will provide all information available from the index record and explain that the file is no longer available.
Record Request
If the USCIS does not find a record, they will provide a Record of No Naturalization, which will be enough for the Consulate. If they do find a record, they will give you a file number, which you can then make a request to obtain copies of that file. Another fee must be paid ($65 as of June 2022).
